Limitations
False-positive results may be produced if the patient has been immunized against yellow fever or if the patient has had previous infections that produce similar, cross-reacting antibodies.
Clinical Significance
IgG titers ≥1:16 suggest exposure (either past or recent), while the presence of IgM indicated recent infection.
