Clinical Significance
Detects anti-RyR (ryanodine receptor) in the sera of patients with Myasthenia Gravis (MG). Other striational antibodies, such as titin, are rarely found in acetylcholine receptor (AChR) antibody-negative MG. Anti-titin is detected in 20% to 40% of all MG patients and anti-RyR in 13% to 38%. Anti-titin (49% to 95%) and anti-RyR (70% to 80%) are frequently found in thymoma associated-MG cases.
