Preferred Specimen

1 mL frozen plasma collected in an EDTA (lavender-top) tube
Pediatric volume: 0.25 mL minimum

Instructions

Centrifuge at room temperature within one half hour of collection; preferably immediately after venipuncture. Transfer the cell-free plasma to a clean tube and immediately freeze the cell-free plasma on dry ice or at -70° C.
Ship specimen priority overnight on dry ice and in a well-insulated container. Do not thaw.
