3 - 5 mL whole blood or Bone marrow Sodium heparin (green-top), (royal blue-top) or lead-free (tan-top) tube or
5 mL amniotic fluid in sterile leak-proof container or
5 mg chorionic villi in culture media or
5 x 5 mm formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue block or
5 x 5 mm fresh tissue in sterile container or sterile container in Hank's Ringer's solution

Whole blood or bone marrow: 1 mL

Clinical Significance

This FISH (fluorescence in situ hybridization) assay is performed using any combination of two probes.
