Clinical Significance
HPV is the causative agent of cervical dysplasia and cervical carcinoma. This assay detects high-risk HPV types 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, 66 and 68. The reflex test only identifies whether the high risk types detected are genotypes 16 or 18.
