Preferred Specimen

3 mL amniotic fluid collected in a sterile transport tube

Minimum Volume

1.5 mL

Instructions

Avoid contaminating the fluid with blood.

Note: This test is automatically performed on all Alpha-Fetoprotein amniotic fluids when the MoM is greater than 1.99
