If Antibody Screen is positive, then Antibody Identification, Titer and Antigen Typing will be performed at an additional charge (CPT code(s): 86870 (x) # of panel(s) performed, 86886 (x) # of titer(s) performed and 86905 (x) # of antigen typing(s).

Based on reactions presenting from Antibody Identification, then Direct Antiglobulin Test (DAT) with Reflex to Anti-C3 and Anti-IgG may be performed at an additional charge (CPT code(s): 86880).
If DAT (Coombs, Direct) is positive, Anti C3d and Anti IgG will be performed at an additional charge (CPT code(s): 86880 x2)


Preferred Specimen
5 mL whole blood collected in an ACD (yellow-top) tube


Minimum Volume
1 mL


Other Acceptable Specimens
Red-top tube (no gel), EDTA (lavender-top) or EDTA (pink-top) tube • Cord blood

If Antibody Screen is positive, 97037-Antibody Identification, Titer and Typing, RBC, will be performed at an additional charge.

Based on reactions presenting from Antibody Identification, then 36668 - Direct Antiglobulin Test (DAT) with Reflex to Anti C3 and Anti IgG may be performed at an additional charge.

If 36668 - Direct Antiglobulin Test (DAT) is positive, then 36669 - Anti C3 and Anti IgG will be performed at an additional charge.

Setup Schedule
Sets up 5 days a week.


Report Available
Reports same day.


Limitations
"Private" antigens may not be represented on the testing panel and low antigen levels may be undetected.


Clinical Significance
This test is used to detect significant RBC antibodies.
