Instructions
Separate plasma from cells within 30 minutes of collection. Transport whole blood on ice immediately or 1 ml plasma.
Transport Temperature
inpatient: transport on ice to lab ASAP
outpatient: serate plasma from cells within 30 minutes
outside lab: specimens from outside the main lab need to be spun, seperated, and put on ice or sent unspun on ice within 30 minutes of collection
outpatient: serate plasma from cells within 30 minutes

Specimen Stability
Whole blood: 30 mins
Plasma: Ambient Unacceptable; Refrigerated 2 hours; Frozen 24 hours
