Preferred Specimen
Collect a Green Top (lithium heparin), Grey Top tube, or serum separator (SST).


Instructions
Allow serum tube to clot completely at room temperature. Centrifuge within 30 minutes of collection. Transport 1 ml serum or plasma (min 0.5 mL).


Transport Temperature
Maintain at room temp while processing. Refrigerate for transport and long term storage.


Specimen Stability
After separation from cells: Ambient 8 hours; Refrigerated 3 days; Frozen 1 year.
* Sample is stable for up to 3 days when collected in a NaF Grey Top.
