Fastin blood sugar collected, glucola given and blood collected 1, 2, & 3 hours intervals.  Patient is required to stay in the lab for the entirety of test.

Preferred Specimen
Collect a Green Top (Lithium Heparin or Sodium Heaparin), or a Grey Top (K Oxalate and Na Fluoride), or a Serum Separator (SST)
Collect Fasting Glucose, then administer glucola
Collect 1 hour afterdrink
Collect 2 hours after drink
Collect 3 hours after drink


Instructions
Allow Specimen to clot completely at room temperature. Centrifuge within 30 minutes of collection


Specimen Stability
Sample stable for up to 3 days room temperature when collected in a NaF Grey tube.
