Stool

In order to effectively distinguish patients who are infected with C. Difficile from colonized patients and prevent unnecessary treatment, formed stools will not be tested. 


Instructions
Transport 0.5 gm stool in yellow or white container with no additive.


Transport Temperature
Refrigerate


Specimen Stability
Ambient: Unacceptable; Refrigerated: 72 hrs; Frozen: 72 hrs


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Formed stool
