Preferred Specimen
Serum separator tube or plain red, CSF or urine.


Instructions
Allow serum tube to clot completely at room temperature. Separate serum from cells within 2 hours of collection. Transport 2 ml serum (min 1 ml).
CSF label should be placed on tube 1 and transported to the lab immediately


Specimen Stability
After separation from cells: Ambient 2 hours; Refrigerated 24 hours; Frozen 1 week.
