Preferred Specimen
CSF Tube


Minimum Volume
1 mL CSF and 1 mL serum


Instructions
It is preferred that the collection date and time be the same for both CSF and serum; however, it is acceptable for them to be drawn within 48 hours of each other. CSF must be clear. (CSF collection tube #4 preferred.)
Do not centrifuge. Refrigerate CSF specimens 2-8° C in sterile, plastic CSF vial(s) and send refrigerated .

Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
