1 mL whole blood in heparin blood gas syringe


Instructions

Collection Instructions:

  1. Cap syringe(s) tightly, remove any air bubbles. Send ambient.
  2. If there is a delay in transport >30 minutes, send specimen on crushed ice.
  3. Specimen must arrive within 1 hour of draw.

Outpatient Specimens:

NCMC does not accept outpatient specimens without approval from a pathologist.
