Instructions
Spin to separate serum and transfer to plastic screw-cap vial. Split into 2 plastic vials before freezing. Freeze immediately and submit to laboratory frozen.

Clinical Significance
Calcitonin concentration is increased in patients with medullary thyroid carcinoma. Calcitonon concentrations may be used to monitor disease.
