Collection directions are included in stool container kit.  The sample container (not the cardboard envelope) must be labeled with patient first and last name, date of birth, date and time of sample collection.

Specimen Stability
Fecal Occult Blood Bottle samples are stable 14 days at room temperature or 30 days refrigerated.
Samples collected in a sterile cup are stable up to 4 hours.


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Samples that have been frozen.
