Minimum Volume
Tube must be filled to within 10% of container volume.


Instructions
3.2% Sodium Citrate light blue tube filled to within 10% of container volume. 
Samples drawn using a winged collection set (butterfly) must use a discard tube prior to filling the blue top tube.  Air must be removed from the tubing to insure the proper blood volume is obtained in the blue top tube.

Specimen Stability
Samples are good for 24 hours spun or unspun in an unopened tube
Do NOT refrigerate.


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Samples that have been refrigerated.
Samples with combined contents from separate, underfilled sodium citrate collection tubes
