Clinical Significance

The Hematopathology Consult (HEMC) combines diagnostic consultative services with a comprehensive testing menu for the evaluation of hematologic disorders. The comprehensive approach to diagnosis integrates standard histologic and cytologic findings with results from specialty laboratories, including flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, cytogenetics, coagulation, and molecular diagnostics. An integrated approach is utilized to provide clients with services ranging from test interpretation and selection to a comprehensive histomorphologic diagnosis. The comprehensive report supplies valuable prognostic information to assist caregivers in the selection of the optimal treatment regimen for their patients.
