Instructions
Plain red top tube (Min. 4 mL blood) (Do not prepare the site of venipuncture with alcohol).
Transport Container
Do not open the red top blood tube prior to transport to the laboratory (preferred). Transport ASAP. Alternately, a serum aliquot (Min. 0.4 mL) may be sent. After centrifuging, aliquot serum immediately into a standard transport tube upon opening the red top tube. Minimize exposure to the air. Pediatirc collection: 0.2 mL.

Red top tube (or serum): Refrigerated.

Unopened sample: Ambient: Unacceptable; Refrigerated: 8 hours; Frozen: Acceptable for longer storage
