Instructions
Blood from catheter line AND peripheral (separate samples):
(Adult Isolator Tube: 1 mL [optimal])
1. Prepare draw site using protocols for your institution.
2. Disinfect rubber stopper of Isolator.
3. Collect blood in Isolator or transfer from syringe to tube.
4. Indicate on tube the exact site [which line or peripheral] of the draw.
Pediatric Isolator Tube: 0.25-0.5mL [optimal], 0.1mL minimum.
