Specimen Collection
1. Fresh, untreated Stool
2. Stool in transport media
a. 10% formalin
b. Sodium acetate formalin
c. Transport media such as Cary Blair or C&S vials
It is not recommended to to perform more than 3 specimens per patient.
Not recommended on patients that have been hospitalized more than 3 days.
Unacceptable samples: Fecal specimens that have been concentrated or treated with PVA
fixatives are not suitable for use with this test.
