 Collection swab other than Xpert Swab/G-50.

 Expired collection device.

 Improper/incomplete identification (no patient name, MR# or DOB, or without patient label) on specimen.

 Specimen vial received for testing without the collection time documented.

 Specimen vial received without the buffer in the vial.

 Specimen vial received without the swab left in the vial.

Clinical Significance

For use in Vaginal specimens only.

The Xpert Xpress MVP test utilizes real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the amplification of specific DNA targets and utilizes fluorogenic target-specific hybridization probes to detect and differentiate DNA from:
• Organisms associated with bacterial vaginosis (not reported individually - Atopobioum spp., Bacterial Vaginosis-associated bacterium 2 (BVAB2), & Megasphaera-1)
• Candida spp. (C. albicans, C. tropicalis, C. parapsilosis, C. dubliniensis, not differentiated)
• Candida glabrata/Candida krusei (species not differentiated)
• Trichomonas vaginalis

This test is not intended for use in medico-legal applications.
