Instructions
Place 2 ml urine in APTIMA Urine Collection kit within 24 hours of collection. The fluid level should be between the black lines on the Aptima urine transport tube label.

Clinical Significance
Chlamydia trachomatis infections are one of the most common sexually transmitted infections worldwide and can cause urethritis, epididymitis, proctitis, cervicitis, acute salpingitis, and Pelvic Inflammatory Diseases (PID). C. trachomatis infections are often asymptomatic in both males and females. Children born to infected mothers are at significantly higher risk for inclusion conjuncitivitis and chlamydial pneumonia.
