Limitations
Evaluation for eosinophils is dependent upon an adequate sample, a well-prepared smear and properly stained slide

Clinical Significance
Eosinophils are known to play a role in fibrosis, thrombosis and the activation of mast cells. Eosinophils also play a role in the immunologic defense of parasites. A predomination of neutrophils may indicate an infectious process
