Limitations
Due to structural similarities with lamotrigine, high trimethoprim levels may interfere. Care should be taken when interpreting lamotragine results if trimethoprim is also being administered to the patient.

Clinical Significance
Lamotrigine is used in the treatment of partial and generalized seizures, as adjunctive or monotherapy. Lamotrigine’s steady state elimination half life in healthy young adults is approximately 25 to 30 hours.
