Clinical Significance
Zinc is used industrially as a protective coating for other metals and an alloy in bronze and brass. It is also commonly found in hazardous waste sites. Exposure can result in nausea, fever (which manifests itself 3-10 hours after exposure and lasts 24-48 hours), hives, vomiting and gastrointestinal problems.
