If Staclot-LA from PTT-LA w/Reflex to Hexagonal Phase Neutralization and dRVVT from dRVVT Screen are confirmed negative, then Prothrombin Time (PT), Thrombin Clotting Time (TCT), and Fibrinogen Profile, will be performed at an additional charge (CPT: 85384, 85610, 85670).
Additional assays, if needed, will be performed at an additional charge to determine the cause of the abnormality.

Preferred Specimen
Minimum: 2 mL plasma submitted in (x4) 3.2% sodium citrate (light-blue top) tubes

Instructions
Submit 4 plasma aliquots, each with 2 mL plasma for possible additional testing.

Clinical Significance
This evaluation is for the patient with a prolonged Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time and a history of thrombosis. The investigation follows a testing algorithm with an endpoint of arriving at a final diagnosis, most commonly a Lupus Anticoagulant.
