Preferred Specimen
Minimum: 10 mL whole blood collected in a sodium heparin (green-top) tube and Minimum: 5 mL whole blood collected in an EDTA (lavender-top) tube

Maintain sample(s) at room temperature. Do not refrigerate. It is recommended that the samples be drawn shortly before courier pick up so they are received at the lab within 24 hours. Avoid transport just before or during weekends, which can result in preassay delay.
