Instructions
Adults Transfer 8 mL to 10 mL (minimum volume: 3 mL) of blood to a BACTEC Plus Aerobic/F culture bottle and 5 mL to 7 mL (minimum volume: 3 mL) of blood to a BACTEC Standard Anaerobic/F culture bottle. Infants/Children/Difficult to Draw Patients Transfer 1 mL to 3 mL (minimum volume: 0.5 mL) of blood to a BACTEC Peds P1us/F culture bottle. Recommended Volumes Adults: 13 mL to 17 mL per venipuncture Children: 1 mL to 5 mL per venipuncture Neonates: >1 mL per venipuncture
