Message
If possible, the patient should abstain from red meats (beef, lamb, and liver) for 3 days before and during stool collection. They should avoid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen, naproxen or aspirin for 7 days before and during stool collection. Patient should avoid Vitamin C in excess of 250 mg/day for 3 days before and during collection.

Instructions
Submit only 1 of the following specimens: Feces - Collect 0.5 ml feces in a sterile, screw-capped container. Maintain sterility and forward promptly. Hemoccult card - Submit feces on Hemoccult card. To inoculate the card, open the front flap and apply a small quantity of specimen to square A and a small quantity of fecal specimen from a different portion of feces to square B. Close flap. Forward promptly.
