Serum exhibiting a high degree of hemolysis, icterus, lipemia or microbial growth may interfere with test performance. Patients taking procainamide or hydralazine may demonstrate a false positive result. Results may not correlate with systemic lupus erythematosus if patient has been treated recently with corticosteroids or other immunosuppressive drugs.
