Nasopharyngeal swab (polyester or nylon) in viral transport medium (UTM, VTM, M4RT, Saline)


Minimum Volume
Nasopharyngeal swab: 1.0 mL


Transport Container
The patient's name and date of birth must be legibly written on the label that is adhered to the vial. Place each specimen in a separate biohazard bag.

Refrigerated: 3 days


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Specimens in leaking containers will not be tested. Dry swabs, calcium alginate swabs, samples in bacterial transport systems, and body fluids will not be tested.
