Minimum Volume
Nasopharyngeal swab: 1.0 mL


Instructions
 Place specimens in the refrigerated Molecular Diagnostic rack.


Transport Container
The patient's name and date of birth must be legibly written on the label that is adhered to the vial. Place each specimen in a separate biohazard bag. Store on ice packs during transport.

Specimen Stability
Refrigerated: 3 days   Frozen: -20°C for long term storage or delay in shipping


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Specimens in leaking containers will not be tested. Dry swabs, calcium alginate swabs, samples in bacterial transport systems, and body fluids will not be tested.
