Clinical Significance
For acute/emergency management of care in pregnant women, in the appropriate clinical setting, a spot urine protein:creatinine ratio ≥0.26 to 0.3 mg protein/mg creatinine supports a clinical diagnosis of preeclampsia.
If applicable, consider a 24 hour urine collection to accurately quantify proteinuria for pregnant females with a urine PC between 0.15 and 0.7 mg protein/mg creatinine.
