Instructions
Testing is scheduled in advance, O.R. responsible for notifying lab at least 24 hours before surgery and providing phone extension for notification of results.
The collection tube label, in addition to the standard patient information, should include the date and time of draw, employee # and draw interval (i.e. Baseline, 30 min, 60 min, etc.)
LAB: Due to the time critical nature of intraoperative testing each campus location has a designated PTH-Intraoperative order.
Newport Beach Campus, order PTH Intraoperative Baseline [LAB5210595] first, then PTH intraoperative [LAB5210934]. Refer to SOP.
Lab will place STAT PTH Intraoperative orders upon receipt of specimen and call results to phone extension provided.
