Instructions
Please refer to procedure for “Point of Care Occult Blood – Hemoccult Sensa” Section 4. Wait 3-5 minutes before adding developer. Add developer to the opposite side of the slide and read results within 60 seconds.

Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Gastric sample NOT acceptable.
Report Available
Results from Point of Care testing are entered directly to the EMR by testing personnel.
Limitations
Cannot interpret results if color blind. Interfering substances can be due to diet or medications, please refer to procedure for “Point of Care Occult Blood – Hemoccult Sensa” Section 7.
Reference Range
Negative if no blood is detected. Positive if blood is detected.
