Clinical Significance
This is a nontreponemal screening test for syphilis. False positive results may occur, due to systemic lupuserythematosus, leprosy, brucellosis, atypical pneumonia, typhus, yaws, pinta, or pregnancy. Monitoring of RPR is helpful in assessing effectiveness of therapy.
