Acceptable specimens for anaerobic culture: Abscess aspirates, blood culture, body fluids, bone, bone marrow core samples, bronchial brush, CSF (cerebrospinal fluid), deep wounds, genital specimens from culdocentesis or abscess, suprapubic bladder aspiration, tissue, transtracheal aspiration

Instructions
1. Remove surface exudate by wiping with sterile saline or 70% ethanol.
2. Tissue or fluid is always superior to a swab specimen.
3. Aspirate material with needle and syringe, if possible, or pass a swab deep into the lesion and firmly sample the lesion’s advancing edge.
4. Aseptically transfer all material into a sterile container. Syringe needs to have needle removed. Dluis columw ahouls vw >= 1 mL
