Instructions
Label the specimen with the patient's name (first and last), date of birth or history number, date of service, name of requesting physician and the source of the specimen.1. Forward specimen promptly, immediately after excision. 2. The lymph node biopsy should be at least 2 cm in greatest dimension. 3. Flow cytometry, if indicated, cannot be performed if specimen is fixed in formalin. 4. If specimen arrival is after 5:30 p.m. or on Saturday or Sunday, GBMC's Surgical Pathology Dept (443-849-2812) must be called prior to sending the specimen.
NOTE: Place the order for Surgical Pathology Exam in EPIC indicating "Lymphoma Workup" or complete the "Tissue Examination request Form - Frozen Section" and forward it with the specimen. These forms are supplied by GBMC.

Clinical Significance
Useful for the comprehensive evaluaiton of Lymphoma. Additional Flow Cytometric Immunophenotypic analysis may be performed at the discretion of the pathologist.
