Instructions
Label specimen with patient's name (first and last), history number, name of requesting physician, and date and source of specimen.1. 1.0 mL of breast cyst fluid is required. 2. After aspiration of the cyst, the entire specimen is placed in Cytospin collection fluid supplied by GBMC Lab. 3. Rinse the syringe with Cytospin collection fluid to remove any remaining specimen. 4. Label the specimen appropriately (patient name, medical record number, specimen source and whether it is from the right or left breast. Note: It is particularly important to note whether or not the cyst fluid was grossly bloody by checking the appropriate box on the Cytology Requisition.

Useful for the diagnosis of primary or metastatic neoplasms. Can aid in the diagnosis of non-neoplastic, infectious, or inflammatory processes.
