Clinical Significance
CD35 is a complement binding protein that is strongly expressed in normal and neoplastic follicular dendritic cells and weakly expressed in some lymphocytes. Its primary use in immunohistochemistry is to identify tumors of follilcular dendritic cell type and is therefore often included in diagnositc panels for undifferentiated eipthelioid and spindle cell neoplasms.
