Patient Preparation
Fasting is not required. Patients should not take Coenzyme Q10 supplements the morning of the test. They may take other nutritional supplements prior to testing.

Instructions
 
SPECIMEN MUST BE SHIPPED SAME DAY AS COLLECTION

Please wrap the specimen in foil or transfer specimens to amber tubes, must be protected from light.

1. Gently invert 5X (Do not shake!)

2. Let blood clot for 30 min. at room temperature

3. Centrifuge for 10 minutes

4. Store and transport Frozen

Reject thaw: 6 freeze/thaw cycles

It has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This assay has been validated pursuant to the CLIA regulations and is used for clinical purposes.

Clinical Significance
CoQ10 testing is useful for individuals on statin therapy who may or may not be experiencing myalgia symptoms, hypercholesterolemic individuals, and asymptomatic individuals at risk for vascular disease who may have low ApoA1 and/or HDL levels.
