Instructions
Collect random urine in a clean plastic screw top container without preservative.


Transport Temperature
Room temperature or refrigerated (2-8C)


Specimen Stability
Stable at room temperature for 7 days.  Stable refrigerated (2-8C) for 12 weeks.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opiate analgesic similar to morphine.  A positive result indicates the presence of fentanyl at a concentration above the cutoff limit of 2 ng/mL and does not necessarily correlate with the extent of physiological and psychological effects.
This assay provides a PRELIMINARY analytical result only.  Results must be interpreted in conjunction with clinical picture as false negative and false positive measurements can occur.
