Clinical Significance
Urinary calcium is used in the differential diagnosis of absorptive hypercalciuria and hypercalciuria caused by hyperparathyroidism, hyperthyroidism, Paget disease, or “renal leak” type of calciuria as seen in renal tubular acidosis.
