Message
The screening results are to be used for medical purposes only.

Positive results will be sent to a reference laboratory for confirmatory testing by an alternate method.

Test Code
LAB6190

CPT Codes
80101 x 7

Includes
Amphetamines screen – detects d-amphetamine, d-methamphetamine. The assay also detects l‑amphetamine, l‑methamphetamine, d,l-amphetamine, d,l-methamphetamine, methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA), and, to a lesser extent, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) and methylenedioxyethylamine (MDEA).
Barbiturates screen - detects both long-acting (phenobarbital) and short-acting (secobarbital, pentobarbital) barbiturates
Benzodiazepines screen - detects most benzodiazepines and their metabolites
Cannabinoids screen - detects 11-nor- Δ9 –THC-9-carboxylic acid and other Δ9 –THC metabolites
Cocaine screen – detects benzoylecgonine (cocaine metabolite)
Opiates Screen - detects morphine, morphine-3-glucuronide, and codeine in human urine. Also detects synthetic opiates such as hydromorphone, hydrocodone, oxymorphone, oxycodone, dihydrocodeine, meperidine, and levorphanol and the narcotic antagonist nalorphine
PCP screen - detects phencyclidine
Fentanyl screen - detects Fentanyl

Minimum Volume
1 ml

Instructions
Collect random urine in a clean plastic screw top container without preservative.

Specimen Stability
Refrigerate within 2 hours.  Stable for 3 days refrigerated.

Methodology
Two point rate:The concentration of drug in the urine sample is directly propotional to measured enzyme activity.

Limitations
The opiates reagent has cross-reactivity with the semi-synthetic opioids including
oxycodone at 1979 ng/mL and hydrocodone at 250 ng/mL

Reference Range
Negative
A negative result indicates a drug level that is below the cut-off concentrations:
Amphetamines  1000 ng/mL
Barbiturates        200 ng/mL
Benzodiazepines 200 ng/mL
Cannabinoids       50 ng/mL
Cocaine             300 ng/mL
Opiates              300 ng/mL
Phencyclidine       25 ng/mL
Fentanyl                 2ng/mL
