Clinical Significance
"Elevated levels of homocysteine are observed in patients at risk for coronary heart disease and stroke. In addition, individuals on diets deficient in folic acid, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12 and pyroxidal may have high concentrations
of this analyte. Other causes for hyperhomocysteinuria include thyroid dysfunction"
