Instructions
"Collect stool specimen in a clean container provided by the physician or lab staff
Fresh stool collected in clean tightly-sealed container; solid, formed stools: “peanut” size; liquid or semisolid stools: 1 mL"


Specimen Stability
Refrigerate, stable 72 hours; freeze if specimen is held >72 hours


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Watery diarrheal specimens, failure to follow proper collection and handling procedures


Setup Schedule
Daily on day shift
