" Routine venipuncture Collect one 5ml Red/gold top serum separator tube. "
Instructions
Specimens should be drawn at least six to eight hours after the last dose. If toxicity is suspected, specimens may be drawn at any time.
Specimen Stability
Refrigerate, stable 48 hours; stable 8 hours at room temperature
Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Gross hemolysis, lipemia, or icterus; failure to follow stability requirements

Clinical Significance
"Digoxin is administered for conditions of heart failure or in the treatment of certain cardiac arrhythmias. Digoxin therapy is monitored for possible toxicity and inadequate therapeutic response. The presence of therapeutic antidigoxin immune fragments
