Methodology
Colorimetric:The oxidation of sample glucose is catalyzed by glucose oxidase to form hydrogen peroxide and gluconate.

40-70 mg/dL
Clinical Significance
The most important reason for measuring CSF glucose is in the diagnosis of bacterial meningitis. A low CSF glucose (<40 mg/dL) is found in about 50% to 60% of patients with bacterial meningitis.
