Routine venipuncture. Collect 4.5ml light green top (heparin) tube or one red/gold top serum separator tube. Minimum volume 2ml plasma or serum


Specimen Stability
Refrigerate, stable 8 hours; stable 4 hours at room temperature; stable 2-3 days if frozen.


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Insufficient quantity; gross hemolysis, lipemia, or icterus; failure to follow stability requirements


Methodology
Immunometric:The amount of HRP conjugate bound is directly proportional to the concentration of CK-MB present.
